Supported Connection's Values

Supported Connections (SC) values diversity, inclusion, and learning from those that have a lived experience.

SC considers holistic health to be on a spectrum from difficulty, with everyday functioning, to optimally thriving. SC understands that where a person is on this health scale, is ever changing, depending on their current life experiences.

SC acknowledges, values and recognises the importance of considering each individual and family system's BioPsychoSocialCulturalSpiritual unique tapestry and how these aspects of health interact, in order to provide holistic healthcare.

We have worked hard to develop knowledge in scientific evidenced based assessment, knowledge and intervention skills acquired throughout our formal tertiary education and continued professional development. However, we recognise the client and their family will be the expert in their own life circumstances and experiences.

For great work to be achieved, trust, respect, unconditional positive regard, acceptance and collaboration is essential within therapeutic relationships between the client, their support network and their health care professionals.

We value feedback, reflection, innovation, creativity, and a growth mindset in our continuous strivings to provide great healthcare and support services to our community.

And most importantly, we value understanding the person in the context of their environment, their unique circumstances and their symptoms holistically.

Our Vision

Supported Connections was developed with the clients we work with in mind. We strive to continue to develop and provide a trusted integrated community hub, where people can feel supported throughout their life journeys and transitions, through collaborative support from their multidisciplinary team of health care professionals and community services.

Psychologist / Social Worker / Mediator

Angela Godbee - Founding Director

My Clinical Experience

I work from a client centred, trauma informed and recovery-oriented framework. I have experience working with individuals from infant to older adult, from a variety of backgrounds. I am trained and experienced in using a wide range of evidence-based interventions, communication strategies, and psychotherapies for many different mental health presentations, resulting from life difficulties and medical conditions. I have worked across multiple government sectors (Department of Health, and Department of Education), non-government organisations, and private sectors.

A Little About Me

I have a passion and enthusiasm for learning new things, and persisting to overcome challenges. I greatly value a growth mindset and I bring this, along with a strengths-based focus, to my therapeutic work with the clients that I support. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my beautiful little puppy, Tilly, 🐶 (who is training hard to become a therapy dog), travelling and experiencing different cultures, venturing to the local cafes, reading and spending time with friends and family.
